About 100 Qatari Women
What is 100 Qatari Women?
Launched by the Qatari Businesswomen Association, 100 Qatari Women aims to highlight and publish the stories of 100 Qatari women who have played a key role in their various fields of work and activity. The initiative explores the contributions made by women who are leading the way in their respective professions and whose success has opened opportunities for other women. Our goal is to introduce these outstanding and inspirational women to the world. We are creating a publication featuring the stories of one hundred – and many more as we go forward – of these passionate and pioneering personalities. The initiative also provides a digital platform to showcase the success stories of these women on local and international levels, thus opening the doors to greater opportunities. Telling these stories is our way of celebrating Qatari women who have achieved distinction by facing and surmounting the challenges in their endeavours. 100 Qatari Women is an invitation to take pride in Qatar’s achievements during the past two decades, which led to an era of outstanding women’s participation as well as unprecedented human, economic and social development. The initiative seeks to explore the contributions made by Qatari women to fulfil Qatar’s vision, particularly the country’s National Vision 2030, in which women’s empowerment and participation are core principles.
Why this initiative?
The idea was conceived by the Qatari businesswomen Association to maximize and expand the media coverage on successful Qatari women. The objective was to produce an initial publication featuring and documenting the stories of one hundred trailblazing women. We start by telling the stories of one hundred women, but there will be many more stories, stories of empowerment and inspiration.
Who are these women?
This is a diverse group of women from different backgrounds and of varying age groups. Their stories cover a wide range of fields, from academics to art and from business to politics. They are women who are experts in finance, marketing and law. They are doctors, engineers and athletes. They have succeeded in a variety of industries and professions. They have protected traditions and shattered conventions. What these women have in common is their significant impact in their chosen field – and the paths they illuminate for other women.
About Qatari Businesswomen Association
The Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) is a non-profit organization that provides support and guidance to women in the business environment, including entrepreneurs, professionals and young women. The Association was established in 2000 with the aim to create a dynamic, vibrant and networked business environment for Qatari women. QBWA supports leadership capacities for female entrepreneurs through a wide range of activities. QBWA is chaired by H.E Sheikha Al Anood Bint Khalifah Bin Hamad Al Thani and managed by a number of prominent businesswomen who have a history of success in a diverse array of sectors and businesses.

100 Qatari Women is supported by the Organizing Committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The hosting of the 2022 World Cup is the culmination of more than two decades of social and economic development in Qatar, of which Qatari women were among the most important pillars.
What is the significance of the dandelion?
The dandelion flower reflects optimism and the fulfilment of dreams, as well as overcoming life’s challenges with motivation and inspiration. The flower’s brilliant golden petals represent the celebration of each woman’s achievements, while its colourful seeds represent the distinctive diversity that comprises the whole. Prevailing individually, each is a remarkable and essential element of the blossoming flower.
A platform to celebrate Qatari women and inspire future generations
We aim to create an inclusive platform for celebrating and sharing the inspiring stories of Qatari women who are making a difference in their fields of work and activity, and to promote these women locally and internationally which will help bring greater opportunities.
